Smt. Vimladevi Khyalilalji Vagarecha College
Smt. Vimladevi Khyalilalji Vagarecha College of Nursing Education is a dedicated institution committed to excellence in nursing education and professional development in Thane, Maharashtra. The college was established with the vision of preparing competent, compassionate, and skilled nursing professionals who can meet the evolving healthcare needs of society.
In 2022, the college successfully launched its General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program after receiving due permissions from the Government of Maharashtra, the Maharashtra Nursing Council (MNC), and the Maharashtra State Board of Nursing and Paramedical Education (MSBNPE). This milestone marked the beginning of its journey in providing structured and recognized nursing education.
Building on this strong foundation, in 2023, the college introduced the B.Sc. Nursing (4-Year Degree Program) under the affiliation of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS). The affiliation ensures that the curriculum, academic standards, and clinical training meet state and national educational norms.
SVKV imparts the students to develop basic concepts in nursing and humanities using modern teaching techniques. The students are placed in various clinical speciality areas in the various healthcare organizations under the guidance of well qualified nursing faculty to achieve greater degree of patient care.

Code of Conduct
All students are expected to adhere to the following code of conduct to maintain discipline and academic excellence.
📋 Attendance Rules
- Regular college timing: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Mon–Sat (1-hour lunch break)
- Daily Biometric Attendance (in and out) is compulsory
- Students are not allowed to leave campus during classes or clinical
- If absent for more than one day, Parent/Guardian must report to the class teacher
- Prior permission from class coordinator required for any leave
- 80% attendance in Theory required to appear in examinations
- 100% attendance required in Practical areas
- Absence during examination is not permitted
📜 General Rules
- Maintain silence in classrooms, library, and corridors at all times
- No jewellery in college or clinical areas
- Mobile phones strictly prohibited during classes/clinical
- Dress code (neat and tidy) must be followed at college
- Full uniform is mandatory during clinical/field visits
- Ragging is strictly prohibited — violation leads to dismissal
- All decisions of College Management/Principal are final and binding
🏠 Hostel Rules
- Abide by hostel rules; keep rooms and washrooms clean
- Devote 2–3 hours daily for self-study
- Room lights off by 11:00 PM; study room available for late study
- Only parents/guardians are allowed to visit; no visitors in hostel rooms
- Conservation of electricity and water is mandatory
- Expensive gadgets and electrical equipment not permitted in hostel
⚖️ Disciplinary Policy
- Any act of misconduct or indiscipline will be dealt with strictly
- Students involved in ragging will face immediate dismissal
- Any damage to college property will be recovered from the student
- Students must respect all faculty, staff, and fellow students
- Bringing/consuming intoxicants or drugs on campus is strictly prohibited
- The college reserves the right to take disciplinary action as deemed fit
